Granite Countertops

Granite, an igneous rock consisting mostly of quartz and feldspar, has been a widespread construction stone material throughout human history. Extracted as blocks from quarries all over the world and cut into slabs, they are characterized by random particulates, colors and patterns that are not uniform nor similar. As countertop materials, granite slab sizes vary and subject to the following natural features, use and care precautions:  

• Pitting, veining and minute fissures are natural features of granite and are not defects.  Spills of strong chemicals, such as paint remover, oven cleaners, acidic liquids (like wine, juices) or oil-based  products should be cleaned immediately to avoid penetration.  
• Do not cut  directly on your countertop as this can cause deep and permanent scratches to appear. 
• Avoid dropping heavy or sharp objects on your counters.  
• Avoid direct heat.  
• To prevent staining, re-seal your countertops every year.
